The Detroit Bar and Third Circuit Court have partnered to conduct a virtual Admissions Ceremony on November 12, 2020. Introductions by Chief Judge Timothy Kenny, Lawyers Oath administered by Judge Miriam Bazzi and Welcoming speech by Judge Noah Hood. The issue orders of admission will be sent to the State Bar of Michigan.
An online reception following the swearing-in ceremony will be held. Join Chief Judge Kenny, Detroit Bar President Daniel Shirey and Detroit Bar Barristers President Erica Shell, along with Law School Deans for this celebration.
Lawyers contribute in various ways, helping clients directly and holding public offices of trust. Admission to the Bar is the culmination of years of study and the successful passing of a rigorous exam. New Lawyers will take the oath of the profession. The Admission Ceremony marks the beginning of individuals beginning the practice of law and is celebrated with friends and family as the venerated lawyers and judges welcome the new lawyers into the profession.
DATE AND TIME: November 12, 2020
Register by November 11 to participate. Detroit Bar will send a ZOOM link to all registrants to join the Judges from Third Circuit Court, Law School Dignitaries, Detroit Bar Officers and Barristers Officers.
Admissions Ceremony check-in with Wayne County by November 11 at 4:30 pm. You must call 313 224-5510 to pay $25 to Wayne County and receive appropriate paperwork.
Ceremony & Reception: 12:00 – 1:30 p.m., Everyone is invited to participate.
All those participating in the awards ceremony will be provided a unique Zoom link at 10:00 a.m. on November 12th so they can be viewed. All others joining will be given a link with their registration confirmation to join as a viewer. We encourage everyone to call in at noon to hear from the Third Circuit Court Judges for one hour speaking to all Bar passers and sharing their experiences.
