Topic: The Afghan Asylum Program

The best way for most Afghan evacuees to gain permanent status is to file for asylum, which must be submitted within one year of their arrival. The project seeks pro bono attorneys to assist in filing asylum applications for Afghan evacuees. Training and technical assistance will be provided to any attorneys who are able to volunteer. No immigration experience required. There are many ways to get involved. Learn more details at the webinar.

Attend and receive a Certificate of Completion Approved for State Bar of Michigan Pro Bono Honor Roll hours

Training hours can be put toward the Detroit Bar Pro Bono award with recognition at the annual Archer Award Gala in November.
