Heather J. Atnip graduated Cum Laude from Wayne State University Law School in 2006. While attending law school, she took a position with an insurance company focusing primarily on insurance defense. After three years of defending the insurance company, she moved on to work for a large plaintiff firm, successfully litigating a large number of cases. 

In 2013, Heather J. Atnip founded Atnip & Associates, PLLC, located in downtown Rochester where she currently focuses on wrongful death, catastrophic first-party and third-party cases as well as mass action cases including Native American Boarding School Abuse cases as well as the Midland Dam Mass Action amongst others. 

She has spoken on a variety of topics including for Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) on the topics of cross-examining neuropsychologists, obtaining large verdicts as well as for ICLE on Managing Law Firms, Cross Examining Claims Adjusters, and more. She is a member of several professional organizations including AAJ, NTLA, MAJ - where she served on the executive board; the State Bar of Michigan where she served as State Bar Representative for the 6th Circuit, the Macomb County Bar Association where she serves as a trustee and served as State Bar Representative for Macomb WLAM; and the Detroit Bar Association, where she serves as a Director.
